Artisans from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur participate in 18th edition of IFJAS

Guwahati: The 18th edition of the Indian Fashion Jewelery and Accessories Show (IFJAS) was inaugurated at the India Expo Center in Greater Noida from June 24 to 26. The event was attended by various dignified figures including Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) president Dilip Baid.

Project Officer Bhaskar Baruah of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) told Business North East, "With support from the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, EPCH has facilitated the participation of 8 artisans from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur in IJFAS 2024. They will present a range of jewelry, fashion items, and eco-friendly products crafted from Kauna and water hyacinth, emphasizing the region's expertise in craftsmanship and commitment to sustainable production methods".

The primary goal of the fair is to establish one's brand and encourage exhibitors to focus on confidence, brand loyalty, and networking. Potential buyers from over 40 countries are also taking part.

Director General of EPCH and chief advisor in the role of chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited., Rakesh Kumar, expressed interest in placing orders with regular and new suppliers.

He emphasized the importance of promoting strong linkages between the business community and the global market, celebrating artistic excellence and cultural heritage of the country showcased by artists. He expressed gratitude to fashion jewellery and accessories exporters for their continued confidence in EPCH and emphasized the strength and dynamism of this sector through IFJAS collectively.

The fashion shows during the show are a main attraction for visiting buyers, who are looking at diverse and finest products of fashion jewellery and accessories. Seminars on 'Leveraging Digital Marketing and Social Media Techniques for Export Success and Top Trends Affecting the Jewelery Market for 2025' and 'Top Trends Affecting the Jewelery Market for 2025' are being held. 

Speakers include industry experts and senior consultants who shared information on professional digital communications, connecting with buyers, design and product development, and contemporary marketing practices for growth.

The three-day trade meet offers a unique opportunity for around 175 exhibitor buyers from all over India to sift through a wide range of products to create their own style statement. The demand for products includes sourcing components, as many purchasing communities importing from various markets, especially from India, prefer to source components for their jewellery products.
