APART backed Assam Agribusiness Growth Lab stages to promote agri products of NE

Guwahati: An APART-led Bootcamp 2.0, held on 23rd & 24th March 2022 at Hotel Palacio, Guwahati for its maiden Cohort Enterprises, had a high-intensity, engagement programme designed that saw practice experts from Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. The two-day in-person event had valuable business and technological insights facilitated by specialists from Cinemon Consulting on Branding & Design Strategy, Dr. Jagat Shah, Global Network India on Exports for Agribusiness, and Dr. Bidhan Das, Indian Institute of Packaging on Packaging Technology for Agribusiness. About 60 people participated in the event that comprises AAGL entrepreneurs, officials from DIC and APART, CIIE.CO & ICCSPL teams and special guests.

In the last leg of the Bootcamp, a range of enterprises products was put up for display. Some of the key enterprise products exhibited during the Bootcamp were - Spice Natura and Barak Spring Life’s assorted Masalas, Bengsa Organics’ Oyster Mushroom, Marvella Associates’ Assam Silk Accessories, Passionate Multi Farm’s Wild Honey, Woolah Tea’s Truedips and Saraighat Farms, and Amora Foods’ handcrafted Meat Sausages and Smoked Meat.

The main attraction of the event was the celebratory experience of new products innovated by the AAGL enterprises in the presence of APART officials and media. The 3 new and most interesting products that caught the spectators’ attention were locally brewed Honey Mead by Indiluv, ethnic herbal Pork Masala manufactured by Spice Natura and  Simang Collectives’ handcrafted eco-friendly Moorhen Yoga Mat made out of Water Hyacinth, steeped in a story of conservation of historic Deepor Beel by the local fishing community.

Nitin Singh of APART highly praised the endeavors of the enterprises and lauded the efforts of the  AAGL team for changing the way the -entrepreneurs are doing business in Assam. APART ensured the entrepreneurs in the Agri and allied sectors of every possible support and government assistance for scaling their businesses, in terms of access to finance and the market.

AAGL is an Acceleration Initiative in Assam. CIIE.CO of IIM Ahmedabad is co-implementing this program in partnership with Innovative Change Collaborative Services Pvt. Ltd, (a part of ICCo group of Companies). This program is supported by Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART). AAGL aims to handhold and support 100 agribusinesses in 4 years with a 30% representation of women-led Agri-enterprises.
