Mumbai: The Ananya Birla Foundation has launched its first grant challenge for the 2024-25 cycle, focusing on sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship support for rural women and access to mental healthcare for vulnerable populations.
"The foundation is committed to working with community-first non-profit organizations in India to address pressing societal challenges, particularly in underserved regions like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the Northeastern states," it said in a statement.
Grants are made through relationship building with potential grantees and are only accepted from Indian non-profit organizations registered as trusts, societies, or Section-8 companies with valid certificates.
The deadline for applications is June 24, 2024. For those wishing to submit applications in Hindi or another Indian language, the foundation can be contacted at hello@ananyabirlafoundation.org.
The organization says it is "committed to funding activities that promote happiness, health, and equality, but does not make grants or loans to individuals, private businesses, political activities, or religious programs." However, faith-based organizations may submit grant applications if a project falls within their areas of interest. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting all eligible organizations, accepting grant applications year-round and notifying applicants within two months of approval. Each organization is limited to one application within a twelve-month period.
