Amazon India partners with Gentari for 10,000 EV fleet by 2025

Mumbai: Amazon India announced a new strategic alliance with electric mobility company Gentari for its EV deployment program, aiming to have a fleet of 10,000 electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries by 2025. Amazon India announced that Gentari Green Mobility Business will supply electric vehicles and offer fleet management services to delivery partners for the next three years to maintain the operation of the EV fleet.

The collaboration will offer Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) increased access to additional electric three-wheelers for Amazon deliveries, the statement included. Abhinav Singh, VP (Operations) at Amazon India, mentioned that they strive to give their delivery service partners the tools they need to succeed, including access to electric vehicles, vehicle life cycle management services, and charging and parking facilities. He stated that the company had over 7,200 electric vehicles in India by the end of 2023 and is on target to deploy 10,000 EVs in the domestic market by 2025.

Amazon India operates in 400 cities throughout the country. Nikhil Thomas, CEO of Gentari Green Mobility India, expressed his confidence that the collaboration in deploying more EVs will help India achieve its net zero targets and lead to a cleaner and electric future in the transportation sector.

Gentari Green Mobility India provides a range of services such as an extensive EV charging station network, EV subscriptions via Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS), and customized value-added services.
