Airtel partners with Google Cloud to accelerate growth in India.

Guwahati: Leading telecommunications provider Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud have announced a strategic collaboration to deliver cutting-edge cloud solutions to Indian businesses. 

The collaboration between the two companies targets the burgeoning Indian public cloud services market, projected to reach $17.8 billion by 2027, leveraging their respective strengths in connectivity and AI technology, the companies said. Airtel and Google Cloud will develop industry-leading AI/ML solutions, utilising Airtel's vast data set to drive enhanced value for customers.

These solutions will include geospatial analytics for trend-spotting, predictive capabilities, market assessment, risk management, and asset tracking; voice analytics for conversational applications across languages; and marketing technology solutions for consumer behaviour forecasting and tailored audience segmentations.

Airtel has also introduced an end-to-end IoT solution tailored for the utility sector, integrating connectivity, Google Cloud services, and application software to facilitate seamless and efficient deployment.

Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO of Bharti Airtel, emphasised the importance of cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions in India's digital transformation journey, expressing optimism about addressing market needs with "secure and scalable cloud solutions."

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, echoed Vittal's sentiments, highlighting the collaboration's significance in accelerating cloud and AI adoption in India.

According to the official release, Airtel plans to leverage Google Cloud's AI capabilities to enhance customer experiences and streamline internal processes across its mobile, broadband, and digital TV offerings. These capabilities will also be extended to Airtel's B2B customers in India and globally.
