Wokha: The district administration of Wokha in Nagaland facilitated a one-day agripreneurship workshop on May 17, 2024, officials said.
Agripreneurship refers to entrepreneurship in agriculture. Entrepreneurship is a concept that encompasses transforming an idea or vision into a “new business or new venture creation, or the expansion of an existing business, by an individual, a team of individuals, or an established business”
Collaborating with esteemed institutions like the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, and ICAR-KVK, Wokha, the event attracted enthusiastic participation from various sectors, government officials said in a release. SDO (C) Sanis, L. Samuel, warmly welcomed the event's resource persons, including notable figures like Dr. Aabon W. Yanthan and Moaakum Pongen, who shared insights on agripreneurship schemes and opportunities.
The workshop emphasized the need to create a drug-free environment and support healthy lifestyles, which resonated with the 55 young participants from the Sanis area who learned useful information about sustainable agriculture techniques and economic opportunities.
