New Delhi: In the June quarter, Adani Power saw a decrease of more than 55 percent in its consolidated net profit, falling to Rs 3,913 crore from the previous year, primarily due to increased expenses.

In the quarter ending on June 30, 2023, the company's net profit totaled Rs 8,759 crore. Income decreased to Rs 15,474 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024-25 compared to Rs 18,109 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. Total costs surged by Rs 10,568.44 crore in the quarter, up from Rs 9,309.39 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The CEO of Adani Power, S B Khyalia, stated that as the company continues to expand, they are proactively planning for three 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical projects to be prepared for the expected growth in the thermal power industry. The increase in operating revenue was limited compared to the growth in volume because of reduced tariff realization, it stated.

Power sale volume increased by 38 pc to 24.1 billion units in the first quarter of FY25 from 17.5 BU in Q1 FY24, driven by higher power demand and increased effective operating capacity.
