Hanoi: Vietnam will serve as the partner country at the second edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), which will be held from September 25 to 29, 2024, in Greater Noida. The event, co-organized by the Uttar Pradesh government and the India Expo Centre and Mart, aims to bolster trade, economic cooperation, and tourism ties between India and Vietnam.

As part of UPITS 2024, the Vietnam-India Forum and the UP-Vietnam Tourism Conclave (UP-VTC) will be held, focusing on expanding collaboration in the tourism sector. Vietnam's ambassador, Nguyen Thanh Hai, who will attend the event, emphasized Vietnam's investments in various Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, and expressed interest in exploring new business opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.

As per reports, Ambassador Hai highlighted the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India, which paves the way for increased business and cultural exchanges. "This collaboration strengthens bilateral relations and opens doors for growth between the two regions," he remarked.

Reportedly, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, Chairman of India Exposition Mart (IEML), noted the immense potential for religious tourism in Uttar Pradesh, particularly due to its status as a key hub for Buddhism. He also mentioned Vietnam's aviation exhibitors' plans to increase flight connectivity and develop a dedicated Buddhist tourism circuit, enhancing ties between the two nations.

Moreover, the five-day event will feature a mix of B2B and B2C activities and showcase Vietnam's cultural heritage through performances of traditional music, dances, handicrafts, and food. Attendees will experience authentic Vietnamese cuisine, including dishes like pho, spring rolls, and banh mi. Vietnam will also display indigenous products, particularly in the textile manufacturing sector.

During a preparatory meeting on September 17, GB Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma reviewed arrangements for the event, which is expected to include a visit from India's Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
