In an exclusive interview with Business North East, Nasir Hussain and Ramesh Pandey Chetry, the founders of Classic and Arohan Acro Feeds, shared their remarkable journey and insights into the agriculture and poultry industries in Assam. Starting with little more than a vision, Nasir and Ramesh have built their businesses with the aim of enhancing Assam's agricultural and poultry sectors. Despite facing numerous challenges, their commitment to the industry remains steadfast.

Nasir Hussain, founder of Acro Feeds, highlighted the potential of corn and soybean farming but also pointed out a significant obstacle. "Corn and soybean farming have a promising future. However, soybean cultivation involves risks, particularly with separating oil from the mash. The required separation machine costs ₹6 crore, a substantial investment that is currently unavailable in the state," he noted. Ramesh Pandey Chetry emphasized the demand in the poultry sector. "In the poultry industry, approximately 2,200 metric tons of feed are needed daily.

The state requires around 13 lakh kilograms of corn feed each day, costing about ₹2.6 crore (at an average rate of ₹20 per kilogram)." Both founders believe that the agriculture, poultry, and animal husbandry markets in Assam have significant growth potential. Their experiences and observations underscore the evolving landscape and opportunities within these sectors in the region.
