Assam chief minister distributes appointment letters, nears 1 lakh job goal

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma recently distributed appointment letters to candidates in the Public Works Department and the Department of Medical Education and Research. The distribution included 1,127 appointment letters — 266 for Public Works and 861 for the Medical Department. This brings the total number of appointed candidates to 99,097.

Dr. AK Barman of the Department of Medical Education (DME) highlighted that these new appointments signify a significant step towards medical development, projecting substantial growth in Assam’s healthcare sector over the next five years.

Dr. Sarma emphasized that the state is nearing its goal of creating 1 lakh jobs, with only 50,000 positions remaining. He noted that these appointments will greatly benefit the health and Public Works departments, contributing to the overall development of Assam.
