Workshop on Space Technology Held in Shillong

Shillong: In anticipation of National Space Day, which celebrates the success of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission, the Water Resources Department of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the National Project Management Unit (NPMU) under the National Hydrology Project, Government of India, organized a workshop today on "Space Technology for Sustainable Water Resources Management." The event was graced by the Minister in charge of Water Resources, C. Ymbon, as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Ymbon highlighted India's rapid advancements in space technology and its widespread application across various development sectors. He emphasized that space technology has become crucial in tackling global challenges, including the sustainable management of water resources. The Minister also revealed that the Water Resources Department of Meghalaya, under the National Hydrology Project, has already developed a framework to leverage modern technology for the management and conservation of the state's valuable water resources.
