Agartala: Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Sinha Roy recently attended the pre-budget meeting in New Delhi, wherein he sought the immediate release of the remaining Rs 14,247 crore funds from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to address the damage caused by the recent floods in Tripura. During the meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister requested a special financial package of Rs 500 crore for the infrastructure development of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) during the meeting, according to reports.
In another pre-budget meeting held in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer today (December 23), the minister expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and Nirmala Sitharaman for continuously supporting the northeastern states. While highlighting the significant progress in Tripura under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, he raised several important issues to further accelerate the state's development.

The Finance Minister also requested a special financial package of Rs 500 crore for the infrastructure development of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Additionally, he urged the Indian Government to establish AIIMS, IITs, and IIMs in Tripura to meet the demand for super-speciality medical treatment and provide prestigious educational opportunities for the people in the state. He also requested the removal of restrictions imposed on Externally Aided Projects until the financial year 2025-26.
Further, he appealed for an increase in the allocation under the scheme, providing special assistance to states for capital investment and called for the removal of associated conditions during the meeting.
