Guwahati: The Tea Board of India has unveiled a new logo for glorifying the bicentennial of Assam Tea on the occasion of celebrating Fourth International Tea Day on May 21 in Guwahati.
The design is made by the board in association with the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology.
The Minister of Industries and Commerce and Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs; Government of Assam Bimal Borah present in the occasion urged all present to continue to work dedicatedly and passionately to ensure that the industry remains as vibrant and robust as ever and so that tea continues to be an integral part of Assam’s identity as it has always been for the past 200 years.
The officers of Tea Board of India Northeast Zonal Office in Guwahati told Business Northeast that 2023 is also the year of completion of 200 years of Assam Tea.
The Tea Board India, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has planned a series of promotional activities to commemorate the Fourth International Tea Day with the objective of raising awareness as well as celebrating the second most consumed beverage in the world.
A panel discussion on “200 Years of Assam Tea and its Future” has also been organised during the programme.
