Arunachal Pradesh: The Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project, a pivotal hydroelectric initiative, is set to be commissioned in March 2025. The officials informed Business North East that “ it will be in the pre machine stage”.
Recently, in July, the Ministry of Energy has recommended NHPC under the leadership of R P Goel for the Navratna Status.
The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited informed Business North East at present contractors for various work packages have completed balance work and construction works are ongoing. Dam construction has been completed, with all dam blocks/bays reaching the top level of EL 210.0m. Power house concreting has been achieved for 90 percent, including civil work for Unit number1 and Unit number 2 and the Tail Race Channel for all eight units.
The Water Conductor System is almost ready with minimal balance works. Hydro mechanical works are at an advanced stage, while electromechanical works for two units have been completed. The project's overall progress is approximately 93 percent, with an estimated completion cost of Rs. 21247 Cr at December 2022 Price Level.
