New Delhi : Sembcorp Industries announced on Thursday that it has obtained a 150 MW wind-solar hybrid project via its subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Ltd, based in Singapore. The build-own-operate initiative is included in a 600 MW tender released by SECI. Sembcorp Industries has been granted the Letter of Award for a 150MW wind-solar project by SECI through its subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Ltd.

The electricity produced by this project will be supplied to SECI through a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The statement mentioned that this is contingent on the PPA being carried out and the project being finished. The Project is anticipated to be operational for commercial use in 24 months after signing the PPA and will be financed using a combination of internal funds and debt.

Project Expansion Boosts Sembcorp's Renewable Energy Capacity to 4.9 GW in India

This award brings Sembcorp's total renewable energy portfolio in India to 4.9GW. This increases Sembcorp's total renewable energy capacity worldwide to 14.6GW, with a 49MW acquisition still in progress. It was mentioned that the Project award is part of Sembcorp's regular operations and is unlikely to significantly affect the earnings and net tangible assets per share for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.
