New Delhi: Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport is planning to transform into a center for urban air transportation by collaborating with Sarla Aviation and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to launch electric flying taxis. They inked a partnership deal last month to investigate eco-friendly air transportation, with a special emphasis on eVTOL aircraft. This effort seeks to transform air transportation in Karnataka by introducing seven-seater electric flying taxis, providing quicker, cleaner, and more effective travel choices. Sarla Aviation vows to offer a quieter, more affordable alternative to the traditional helicopter services that were previously available in Bengaluru, with operations set to commence in two to three years.

Sarla Aviation, founded by Adrian Schmidt, Rakesh Gaonkar, and Shivam Chauhan, aims to offer budget-friendly aerial taxis in India's busiest cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune. To illustrate, the suggested journey from Bengaluru Airport to Electronics City would only require 19 minutes, as opposed to 152 minutes by land transportation, at a cost of Rs 1,700.

CEO Schmidt Highlights Goals of Efficiency, Sustainability, and Infrastructure Expansion in Urban Air Transport

The CEO, Schmidt, expressed the goal of changing urban air transport through improved efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and expandable infrastructure. The partnership is unveiling eVTOL aircraft to tackle Bengaluru's traffic problems, signaling a major move in improving city transportation and supporting a more eco-friendly way to travel.

Even though there are still regulatory obstacles, this collaboration shows advancement in addressing urban congestion with sustainable aviation technology. Sarla Aviation is quickly establishing itself as a frontrunner in advanced air mobility by advancing innovation through its eVTOL solutions. The company's goal is to reduce traffic in large Indian cities by promoting eco-friendly and economical air transportation. Their collaboration with Kempegowda International Airport establishes them as a major influence in the development of urban transportation, drawing from the founders' expertise in top air traffic companies in the West.
