The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, has announced the release of rice under the National Food Security Act (NFSA)—including Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household (PHH) categories—and Non-NFSA, along with Wholemeal Atta, for the month of May.
As per the notification, AAY beneficiaries will receive rice at the scale of 35 kilograms per card, while PHH beneficiaries will be chosen 5 kilograms per head.
Together, both groups under NFSA will be dispersed free of cost.
For Non-NFSA households, rice will be distributed at the scale of 7.105 kilograms per household, priced between Rs. 12.70 and Rs. 13.00 per kilogram.
In addition, Wholemeal Atta will be distributed at the scale of 5 kilograms per card in urban areas and 3 kilograms per card in rural areas, priced at Rs. 10.50 per kilogram.

All Fair Price Shops (FPS) have been instructed to commence delivery immediately upon the arrival of stocks. Shops are also required to prominently display the list of recipients and their hours of operation.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged citizens to report any examples of non-supply, supply below the prescribed scale, overcharging, or distribution of inferior quality goods to the DC (Supply) office, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong.
