Singapore: As per reports. Rajasthan's Minister for Industry and Commerce, Rajyavardhan Rathore, has called for increased investment from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) across various sectors to boost the state's development. Speaking after a roadshow promoting "Rising Rajasthan," Rathore emphasised that the state is open to collaboration with ASEAN countries in industries such as urban development, textiles, and solar energy.

"We are appealing to all sectors in ASEAN to participate in Rajasthan’s development," Rathore told reporters. He highlighted Singapore's expertise in areas like urban infrastructure, ports, and aviation, which could be instrumental for the state's growth. He also stressed that Rajasthan offers ample industrial space and its proximity to the Indian capital, Delhi, makes it an attractive destination for businesses.

Reportedly, Rathore noted that some ASEAN industries have already established a presence in Rajasthan, with more opportunities available, particularly in education and textiles. The state is setting up textile parks and welcomes investors from across ASEAN to join this initiative.

Rajasthan’s vast solar potential, with 320 days of sunshine, also presents significant opportunities for ASEAN investors, Rathore said. The state's renewable energy targets are ahead of schedule, with an original goal of generating 100 GW of solar energy in four years now expected to be achieved in two years.

He also invited Singaporean participation in the state’s petrochemical sector, citing Rajasthan's large oil reserves, which could provide feedstock for petrochemical plants. Additionally, Rathore acknowledged Singapore’s expertise in port management, which could support the development of inland ports in Rajasthan.
During his four-day visit to Singapore, Rathore met with Singapore’s Manpower Minister Tan See Leng and Minister of Law and Home Affairs K Shanmugam to discuss collaboration opportunities. He also toured Singaporean industries to explore potential partnerships in mineral resource projects.

Rathore extended an invitation to Singaporean businesses to attend the "Rising Rajasthan" event scheduled for December 9-11, 2024, suggesting that Singapore could become a partner country in the event. He emphasized the immense potential for investment and collaboration between ASEAN nations and Rajasthan.
