Guwahati: Prasar Bharati and the Government of Assam have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to produce a 52-episode television series chronicling the life and legacy of Lachit Borphukan, the legendary warrior of the Ahom dynasty. This series will be broadcast across Prasar Bharati's extensive platforms, including Akashwani, Doordarshan, and its digital services under Prasar Bharati News Services (PBNS).

The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, hailed this initiative as a landmark achievement for the state, marking the first instance where the Government of Assam has collaborated with Prasar Bharati to produce a documentary on Lachit Borphukan. Dr. Sarma emphasized the importance of this project in preserving and promoting Assam's rich historical heritage.
