The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has established 75 model Anganwadi Centres across four states, Jharkhand, Assam, Nagaland, and Andhra Pradesh, commemorating the Government of India’s ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ revels.
Allied with the Prime Minister’s vision of commemorating 75 years of India’s Independence, the initiative goes beyond traditional Anganwadi setups.
The upgraded centres boast modern infrastructure and sustainable features intended to enhance health, hygiene, and educational outcomes.
Notably, 28 Anganwadi Centres in Assam's Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Cachar districts have been equipped with Smart TVs, Pen Drives, and Bluetooth Speakers pre-loaded with educational and awareness material. These digital tools are allowing Anganwadi workers to communicate key government schemes more effectively, while also endorsing maternal and child healthcare.
The centres are now fully operational and have been officially handed over to local communities. Each centre has been thoughtfully designed to support the holistic development of children up to six years of age, along with providing care for pregnant and lactating mothers.
