OIL extends financial aid under CSR project

Guwahati: Oil India Limited, as part of its CSR project called Rupantar, organized a credit disbursement program for 235 Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) in Upper Assam.

These JLGs consist of 1,100 families and are involved in various sectors such as handloom, farm mechanization, agro product carriers, and biofloc agriculture. The program aimed to provide financial support and materials to these groups to enhance their economic ventures.

The credit disbursement program took place in the presence of Rameswar Teli, the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, who graced the event as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Atindra Roychoudhury (RCE, OIL), Daisy Rani Phukon Shyam (Chairman, Dibrugarh Zila Parishad), Jitu Kumar Das (DDC, Dibrugarh), Upendra Nath Jena (ED, C&P, OIL), and Arunjyoti Barua (CGM, HR FA, OIL).

Earlier on the same day, Rameswar Teli inaugurated a CSR activity complex named "Swanirbhar" in Tipling, Duliajan. The complex, covering an area of 11,517 square feet, was built to support OIL's flagship CSR projects and provide opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, skill development, and capacity building for rural beneficiaries. Additionally, the complex will serve as a hub for showcasing the company's various CSR activities.

There were around 1,200 beneficiaries in the event. Minister Rameswar Teli commended Oil India Limited for constructing the Swanirbhar CSR building and encouraged the beneficiaries to focus on developing agricultural productivity, fostering an entrepreneurial attitude, and collectively creating a sustainable rural market through cooperative efforts.
