Kohima: The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, has inaugurated the two-day Mega Job Fair 2024, which is being held across its centers in Nagaland, including Kohima, Dimapur, and Chuchuyimlang. The event aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, drawing a large turnout of young professionals and numerous companies from diverse industries.

During the opening ceremony, L. Lanuwabang, Director of NIELIT Kohima, emphasized the critical need for reskilling and upskilling in today's rapidly evolving job market, particularly with the increasing influence of automation and artificial intelligence (AI). He encouraged participants to remain agile and adaptable, pointing out the growing importance of IT and technology skills in nearly all industries.

Addressing the traditional focus on government jobs in Nagaland, Lanuwabang urged attendees to consider private-sector opportunities, noting that the experience gained in these roles can significantly shape and enhance their long-term careers. He thanked employers for their participation and encouraged job seekers to embrace opportunities, even if they initially seem unfamiliar.

The event also featured remarks from Morimenba Amer, Joint Director of NIELIT Kohima, and an invocation by Moakumla.

The fair saw active participation from 15 leading employers representing sectors such as digital marketing, software development, automobiles, logistics, construction, food processing, printing, and telecommunications.
