Guwahati: The NF Railway (NFR) has decided to run a pair of unreserved special trains between Guwahati and Dalkhola stations to accommodate the anticipated heavy rush of pilgrims during the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple.
The trains will operate for three trips each in both directions, providing comfort for devotees and visitors. The special train will depart from Guwahati at 11:55 pm on June 23, 24, and 26, 2024, and return at 9:45 am on June 24, 25, and 27. The train will consist of 20 coaches, including sleeper class and general sitting coaches, and will pass through various railway stations.
A railway spokesperson said, "This move will provide relief for passengers planning to visit the Kamakhya Temple during the Ambubachi Mela and facilitate the return journey of pilgrims from different locations to their respective destinations."
