Guwahati: In an effort to boost industrial growth and development in the state, Bimal Borah, Minister for Industries Commerce & PE Department, Government of Assam on June 10 ceremonially launched the new Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC) logo and inaugurated the building along with the new District Industries & Commerce Centre (DI&CC) Kamrup (M) building on Friday in the premises of Industrial Estate, Bamunimaidam.
AIIDC's commitment to developing industrial infrastructure will undoubtedly pave the way for economic growth, job creation, and a thriving business ecosystem in Assam which is aligned with PM Narendra Modi and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's vision of a holistically progressive and developed Assam with the state becoming one of the top 5 states across the nation, said Mr Borah.
Over the years, AIIDC has achieved remarkable milestones. Initially entrusted with four Industrial Estates, they have now grown to manage 41 Industrial Infrastructures across the state, including Integrated Infrastructure Development Centres, Industrial Growth Centres, Industrial Estates, Industrial Areas, and Growth Centres, Borah continues.
Mr Borah said AIIDC is now focused on expanding industrial infrastructure to meet the growing demands of businesses with some notable upcoming projects. In addition, the new office building of the DI&CC, Kamrup (Metro) will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will serve as a hub for fostering entrepreneurship and supporting the growth of local industries.
MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Queen Ojha, Atul Borah along with Commissioner Industries, Oinam Saran Kumar (IAS), Secretary, Department of Industries, Commerce & PE, Dr. Lakshmanan S (IAS), Chairman (AIIDC) Santanu Pujari, Vice-Chairman (AIIDC), Bishnu Das, MD AIIDC, Chinmoy Phukan; MD AIDC, Manvendra Pratap Singh (IAS), along with ATPO Chairman, Sunil Deka were present at the event.
