Guwahati: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) has been awarded the Economic Times Govt Digitech Award 2023 in the category of education to students using digital solutions.
NEDFi won gold in this category for its Advancing North East initiative, which was initiated, conceptualised and funded by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER. NEDFi is executing the portal and its mobile app, it has been providing career mentoring support to over 10 lakh students of NER and also working on their capacity building in terms of employment and entrepreneurship. NER state governments have also joined hands with NEDFi in this endeavour.
On NEDFi’s behalf, the award was received by SK Baruah, Executive director, Lemli Loyi, general manager and Prithviraj Neog, assistant manager, NEDFi, at Grand Hayat in Goa on August 5.
The award has been instituted to recognise innovative digital initiatives for governance and services on demand and to empower citizens.
In this 4th edition of the award, 300 digital initiatives from 20 states of India have participated in 15 different categories of digital services. A jury constituted of former senior bureaucrats, notable personalities from industry and faculty from the Indian Institute of Management has evaluated the initiatives on the criteria of innovation, relevance, impact, inclusivity and replicability.
