The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, introduced a key meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Korea led by Sang Woo Lim, Deputy Chief of Mission, to explore future association in trade, investment, and technology exchange.
Led by Hekani Jakhalu, MLA and Advisor, and P. Tokugha Sema, Director of Industries and Commerce, the meeting attentive on classifying synergies between Nagaland’s strengths such as agro-processing, handicrafts, textiles, and sustainable industries and Korea’s advanced technology and SME expertise.
Jakhalu repeated the state’s commitment to endorsing investment and job creation, underlining untapped potential in sectors like handloom, organic farming, tourism, and healthcare. Lim expressed his eagerness for partnering with Nagaland, citing its promise for growth and welcoming investment climate, and noted that Nagaland would be his preferred destination in India for investment.

Both parties emphasised the importance of cultural and educational exchanges, including Korean language education, and agreed to continue discussions to identify actionable areas for partnership.
The meeting decided with a shared vision to foster deeper economic and institutional partnerships between Nagaland and Korea.
