Nagaland CM Lays Foundation for PM-USHA Projects, Highlights Women’s Progress

Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio laid the foundation stone for the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) Projects and inaugurated various facilities at Dimapur Government College (DGC). The Nagaland CM highlighted the progress of women in academic fields and political arenas, citing the recent ULB election where women won eight more seats than the allotted 33 percent quota.

Neiphiu Rio emphasized the importance of education, urging teachers to educate students with a moral foundation and make them responsible citizens. He also acknowledged that every year more students try to get admission to DGC and applauded the role of Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along in developing and transforming higher educational institutions in the state.

Moreover, Minister of Higher Education & Tourism Temjen Imna Along praised the DGC, its principal, and teaching staff, asserting that the college is one of the best in the state and the region. He advised students not to seek government jobs alone after graduation but to be well trained in moral and disciplinary curriculum, skills, and abilities to become successful citizens of the state.

Short speeches were delivered by Ex-Officio Director, Higher Education, V. Lovitoly Sema, and State Project Director for PM-USHA, Higher Education, M Kire. Prof. Sanjay Sharma, Principal DGC, gave a welcome address, while Kezhaleu Hesso, Vice Principal & HoD, conducted a felicitation program.
