ONDC is a flagship initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, aimed at democratizing e-commerce in India. In Nagaland, the Department of Industries & Commerce serves as the Nodal Department for promoting and advancing the successful implementation of the ONDC initiative within the state.
The primary aim of this MoU is to facilitate digital sales for small businesses, farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs through the ONDC platform, thereby enhancing their digital inclusion. The collaborative efforts under this MoU aim to empower and enable these diverse business entities by leveraging digital solutions and fostering sustainable growth.
To further expand and ensure widespread participation, the Government of Nagaland has empanelled Ilandlo Services Private Limited, a Nagaland-based e-commerce brand, to work as the Nodal Agency. Ilandlo will bring together local artisans, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), entrepreneurs, and others under its umbrella, assisting them in the onboarding process onto the ONDC Network. This initiative aims to provide diverse local business entities, who often face challenges in accessing broader markets, with a channel to showcase their products and generate revenue through Ilandlo's e-commerce platform.
