New Delhi : On Thursday, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup purchased HDFC Bank shares worth more than Rs 755 crore in open market deals. As per the block deal information on the BSE, financial services giants Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, based in New York, bought 43.75 lakh shares of the Mumbai bank through their affiliates.
The stocks were bought at an average cost of Rs 1,726.2 each, resulting in a total transaction amount of Rs 755.29 crore. BNP Paribas Financial Markets' arm, BNP Paribas, sold these shares through two block deals at the same price on the BSE. BNP Paribas operates as an investment bank and provider of financial services.
BNP Paribas from Paris sold HDFC Bank shares for Rs 543.27 crore last week. HDFC Bank's stocks dropped by 2.55 pc and ended at Rs 1,682.15 each on the BSE.
