Guwahati: There was pandemonium at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Wednesday afternoon due to confusion over boarding gates. Passengers of IndiGo flights to Mumbai and Kolkata were left running from pillar to post as gate numbers were changed multiple times.

At Gate 5, passengers for a scheduled flight to Kolkata had queued up, only to be told minutes later to proceed to another gate on the first floor. As the Kolkata-bound passengers rushed upstairs, Mumbai-bound passengers were already queued up at the new gate. Suddenly, the Mumbai passengers were instructed to return to Gate 5 as their flight's gate was changed back.

The Mumbai passengers were then directed to Gate 3, where the board displayed information for a Hyderabad flight. "The display is managed by Adani staff," said IndiGo executive Shekhar.

Meanwhile, angry passengers urged IndiGo to at least announce the changes. Women carrying young children were seen running around the already congested airport.
