Agartala: In a move to bring transparency and efficiency to the lottery sector, while also generating revenue, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has launched EasyLottery.in, India’s first fully digital lottery platform.
The Chief Minister stated that the platform was launched with the aim of transforming the lottery sector by enhancing transparency and efficiency. He highlighted that the platform guarantees an unmatched experience, from ticket purchasing to prize disbursal, with the first winner's prize set at Rs 50 crore.
“The platform offers a top prize of Rs 50 crore and is designed to ensure a secure and seamless experience from ticket purchase to prize distribution,” CM Sangma said.
He also emphasized the potential economic benefits for the state, particularly in terms of GST revenue.
“The initiative is expected to generate significant revenue for Meghalaya through GST collection. With a commitment to responsible gaming, EasyLottery.in empowers winners to enjoy their prizes. However, if signs of addiction or dependency arise, we are prepared to step in and provide assistance,” he added.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of the platform's 'non-transferable ticket' policy, which ensures that the rightful owner receives the prize, thereby preventing money laundering and ensuring a secure experience.
