Meesho claims 40 pc increase in total orders during annual festival sales

New Delhi: Meesho, an e-commerce company supported by SoftBank, announced on Monday that it has seen a 40 per cent increase in total orders year-over-year during the most recent annual festival sales. During the 10-day 'Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale 2024', the e-commerce company reported a total of 145 crore customer visits. In our Mega Blockbuster Sale this year, we exceeded industry expectations by achieving a growth in orders of over 40 per cent. Milan Partani, General Manager of Meesho, stated that they are furthering their dedication to ensuring that e-commerce is easily accessible and affordable for millions nationwide, with approximately 30 million app downloads and a 45 pc rise in new e-commerce users.

Meesho's main event took place from September 27th to October 6th, 2024. The company saw a significant surge in demand this year, with total orders increasing by more than 40 per cent compared to the previous year, according to the statement. The company reported that they witnessed approximately 45 pc of all customer visits coming from tier-4 cities. The company has connected with customers in rural areas like Ranaghat, Neyyattinkara, Bhadohi, Sangareddy, Sivasagar, Jaynagar, and Naugarh, as well as in urban hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru during the sale, according to the statement.

Meesho reported a 117 per cent increase in prepaid orders on its platform, indicating a notable change in customer behavior towards digital payment choices in tier-2 cities and beyond. The statement mentioned that the home and kitchen category experienced a significant 105 percent year-over-year growth, beauty and personal care increased by 60 percent, and kids & baby essentials saw a 75 percent growth. The company stated that Meesho Mall, where branded products are sold, experienced a doubling in order volume.
