Mcap of 6 of top-10 most valued firms jumps Rs 1.97 lakh cr; ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank major winners

New Delhi : Last week, the total market capitalization of 6 out of the top-10 most valuable companies increased by Rs 1,97,734.77 crore, with ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank seeing the highest gains, reflecting positive movements in the stock market. The previous week, the BSE benchmark surged by 1,653.37 points, equivalent to a 1.99 percent increase. On Friday, the BSE benchmark reached a record high of 84,544.31 after surging 1,359.51 points, which is a 1.63 percent increase. Throughout the day, there was an increase of 1,509.66 points or 1.81 pc, reaching a new all-time high for the day at 84,694.46.

ICICI Bank's market capitalization increased by Rs 63,359.79 crore to reach Rs 9,44,226.88 crore, surpassing that of the other top-10 firms. HDFC Bank's market valuation increased to Rs 13,28,605.29 crore after adding Rs 58,569.52 crore. Bharti Airtel's market worth increased by Rs 44,319.91 crore to reach Rs 9,74,810.11 crore. The market value of Reliance Industries increased by Rs 19,384.07 crore to reach Rs 20,11,544.68 crore in market capitalisation (mcap).

Hindustan Unilever's market capitalization increased by Rs 10,725.88 crore to reach Rs 7,00,084.21 crore, while ITC's valuation rose by Rs 1,375.6 crore to Rs 6,43,907.42 crore. Yet, the market capitalization of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) dropped by Rs 85,730.59 crore to reach Rs 15,50,459.04 crore. Infosys' market capitalization decreased by Rs 15,861.16 crore to Rs 7,91,438.39 crore    

The market capitalization of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) dropped by Rs 14,832.12 crore to Rs 6,39,172.64 crore, while State Bank of India's market cap decreased by Rs 7,719.79 crore to Rs 6,97,815.41 crore Reliance Industries held the top position in terms of value, with TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, ITC, and LIC following closely behind.
