LGBIA towards digitalisation through passenger Wi-Fi

Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), a gateway to the North East, has recently unveiled its improved passenger Wi-Fi service, marking a significant milestone in enhancing the travel experience for passengers to transform the travel experience for both domestic and international passengers.

Free and unlimited Wi-Fi is available to domestic passengers and visitors at LGBIA. Easy login procedure requires users to simply enter their phone number. Immediately following successful login, a One-Time Password (OTP) is sent to the user’s number, granting the user 2 hours of unlimited data. International passengers now have an easier option for accessing the internet via Wi-Fi.

Passengers can pick up a coupon at the ‘May I Help You’ desk or the freshly installed Wi-Fi kiosk machine in the arrival or Security Hold Area upon their arrival or departure, respectively. 

Passengers can easily get their coupons by scanning their passports and boarding passes on the machine. As a result, they won’t have to visit the ‘May I Help You desk’, which will improve the overall efficiency of their visit. The coupons can then be used to sign into the Wi-Fi network with 2 hours of unlimited data.
The authorities at LGBIA are aware of the significance of safety and strictly enforce all the rules set forth by the government, the Wi-Fi network prevents access to restricted sites. The IT team at the airport is working closely with the Terminal Operations and the Ministry of Communication to maintain passenger Wi-Fi as per government rules and guidelines.
