Guwahati: According to the creators, Nag Ashwin's futuristic film "Kalki 2898 AD" has earned Rs 298.5 crore worldwide in just two days. Described as a blend of Hindu epic Mahabharata and sci-fi, the high-cost movie is made by Vyjayanthi Movies and hit theaters on Thursday in six different languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English.
Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan headline the star-studded cast, which also includes Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana. The film made Rs 191.5 in GBOC on its premiere, while it accumulated Rs 107 crore on Friday. According to Sacnilk, Nag Ashwin's science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD neared the Rs 150 crore milestone in the Indian box office, earning Rs 54 crore on Day 2 following an opening day collection of Rs 95.3 crore. The total amount earned by Kalki 2898 AD in India over two days now stands at Rs 149.3 crore nett.
According to Sacnilk, the Telugu adaptation of Kalki 2898 AD emerged as the top earner, raking in Rs 25.65 crore nett on the second day. The dubbed Hindi version earned a total of Rs 22.5 crore nett,while the Tamil version made Rs 3.5 crore nett. The Kannada version contributed a nett amount of Rs 0.35 crore, while the Malayalam version contributed Rs 2 crore nett. The global box office success of Kalki 2898 AD has been notable, with North America taking the lead. According to the film's producers, the Nag Ashwin-starrer has earned a worldwide gross of Rs 298.5 crore after just two days.
