Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched Jio True 5G services in Guwahati, today.
As part of an occasion held in Guwahati today, Jio also introduced its True 5G Powered Wi-Fi services in the Kamakhya Temple complex.
Speaking at the event, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that "5G has the capacity to democratise the health infrastructure throughout the various terrain of Assam."
The medical solution that was presented today, known as "Clinic in the Bag," can enable Asha workers and grass-root health workers, and with the assistance of specialised doctors, can diagnose and treat patients in even the most remote areas of Assam.
He stated: "The government is totally committed to helping Assam quickly implement 5G services. Building a Digital Health Ecosystem in the State of Assam would enable us to realise Prime Minister Modi's vision for the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission ".
Jio has spent more 2500 crores for ongoing work to establish the 5G network in Assam in addition to their current investment of 9500 crores, which demonstrates their enormous commitment to the development of our State, the chief minister added. Jio True 5G services would be accessible in every Assamese town and taluka by December 2023.
