India Strengthens Global Energy Ties At India Energy Week 2025

New Delhi: The India Energy Week 2025 (IEW 2025) at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi, showcasing the immense potential of the energy sector on the global stage, concludes today (February 14).

Organised by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas from February 11, the event attracted over 70,000 representatives from 120 nations, cementing its position as one of the world's largest energy gatherings.

A key highlight of the event was Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) signing a preliminary agreement with Norway's Equinor Plc to procure propane and butane at prices below global market rates. Additionally, Brazil’s state-run oil company Petrobras entered into a memorandum of understanding with India’s ONGC to collaborate in exploration, production, oil and gas sales, decarbonisation, and biofuel development.

IEW 2025 focused on pivotal themes such as collaboration, resilience, and innovation, addressing global energy challenges, including decarbonisation and the advancement of low-carbon economies.

Prominent Indian ministries, including the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, actively participated, reinforcing India’s commitment to fostering collaboration across the energy sector.

With over 700 exhibitors and eight thematic zones, the event highlighted groundbreaking advancements in areas such as - hydrogen, biofuels, and net-zero initiatives.

The US-India Business Council led a high-level delegation, engaging in discussions on the future of India-US energy partnerships, further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the sector.

IEW 2025 emerged as a premier platform for global stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore business opportunities, and witness India’s leadership in steering energy transitions. The event underscored India’s efforts to enhance energy security, promote energy justice, and amplify the voice of the Global South.
