New Delhi: In just two years, India has given rise to over 40 firms in the field of quantum technology, demonstrating the promising future of this developing field there.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology stated that "India has produced over 40 Quantum Technology start-ups in 2 years, few of them with global potential."

Singh gave the officials instructions to concentrate on the flagship National Quantum Mission and work on the development of quantum technologies and quantum communication while presiding over a review meeting of the Department of Science and Technology. He continued by saying that India is currently on par with other countries in terms of quantum technology.

Jitendra Singh presented the success story of 'QuNu Labs' a Bangalore-based startup supported by IIT Madras emphasizing the role of startups and the private sector in the advancement of science and technology. The startup has an agreement with the Technology Development Board (TDB) to develop security products based on quantum technologies.

In the past ten years, women's involvement in extramural research and development (R&D) has increased, according to Singh.
