IIT Guwahati implements Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan projects

Guwahati: Under the Ministry of Education's Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan Projects, IIT Guwahati, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Meghalaya, has undertaken multiple state-level initiatives to enhance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, foster innovation, and build capacity among students and teachers in the state, the institute has said in a statement. 

These initiatives include setting up 50 tinkering labs in secondary schools, providing robotics kits to 750 primary and secondary schools, hosting an excursion trip to MEGHQUEST, enhancing pedagogical skills for over 2,000 teachers, designing science kits containing over 40 experiments aligned with the school curriculum, and establishing dedicated science and mathematics clubs in schools.

The IIT Guwahati team has said it is dedicated to using its resources and expertise to enhance the educational experience in Meghalaya, ensuring that both students and teachers have access to the best tools and methodologies. The project also includes a 2-day mentoring program focused on science and mathematics, workshops on advanced pedagogical techniques, and online support through WhatsApp groups.

"By providing cutting-edge equipment, comprehensive training, and continuous support, the institute aims to create an environment where learning is interactive, engaging, and effective, significantly impacting the quality of education in Meghalaya and setting a precedent for educational excellence in the entire Northeast region", the IIT-Guwahati said in a statement.
