ICC organizes its Annual Members Meet

Guwahati: Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the North East Chapter on May 31 organized its Annual Members Meet at Guwahati.

Sarat Kumar Jain, Chairman of Assam State Council of ICC at his welcome speech gave a detailed presentation about the activities of ICC for last few years.

Mahesh Kumar Saharia, Chairman of North East Regional Council of ICC elaborating the successful journey, stated that ICC has been successful in projecting north east to the National Arena. Prabhat Kumar Bezboruah, Co-Chairman, North East Regional Council of ICC said that the exquisite flora and fauna of North East is something to be preserved which is its biggest strength.

Speaking on the meet Bejon Kumar Mishra, Chairman of ICC NER Food Safety & Consumer Protection Committee, said that the industry in any region can grow when rights of the consumers are protected. Start Ups in the healthcare sector needs support andfinding to bring new innovations and bring the medical cost down, said Subhash Khanna, Chairman of ICC NER Healthcare Committee. Industry Academia interaction is the need of the hour said Shantikam Hazarika, Chairman of IUCC NER Education Committee. Subhas Bhattacharjee, Co-Chairman of Agriculture, Horticulture & Food Processing Committee said Natural farming and GI tagged products needs to be taken in big way. Small and marginal entrepreneurs should get the loans without facing any problem, Said Samir Baruah, Chairman of ICC NER Banking & MSME Committee. The indigenous crafts design protection along with product innovation and diversification is the need of the hour in handloom sector. Sunil Saraf, Chairman of ICC NER Tourism & Hospitality Committee said about quality improvement of its manpower involved along with organizing an international tourism Mart to promote north east. Jayanta Pathak, Chairman of ICC NER Resilient Construction Committee said that his committee is working very hard in commercializing the innovative technologies which are eco friendly and resilient in nature.

Arjun Deb, Chairman of ICC NER Energy Committee said that while the government has been very successful in mass connection of electricity, there is still much more to do as the demand is way ahead of the supply.

After the deliberations of the Chairman of the respective Committees, Mehul Mohanka, President of ICC said that it has been an eye opener to him that the North East is such a unique place which can be called a mini India in itself.

Rajeev Singh, Director General of ICC congratulated all the committees for the good work done by them and said that North East is in fast growth trajectory and feels privileges to be a part of it.
