New Delhi: The Union Cabinet approved two significant schemes on Thursday, namely PM Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and Krishonnati Yojana, with a budget exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore to support sustainable agriculture and guarantee food security.
The Cabinet gave the green light for the PM Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) in order to encourage sustainable agriculture and Krishonnati Yojana (KY) to ensure food security for self-reliance.
According to a post on social media platform X, the total expenditure will amount to Rs 1,01,321.61 crore. "It was also stated that the Cabinet approved the consolidation of all centrally sponsored schemes within the Ministry of Agriculture into two overarching schemes."
