Michigan: Ford Motor Company has revamped its compact Maverick pickup truck, introducing advanced technology, new performance features, and hybrid options for the 2025 model.

The updated 2025 Ford Maverick boasts refreshed exterior and interior designs, including a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, an all-wheel-drive hybrid variant, and connectivity features like a 5G modem and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Since its debut in 2021, the Maverick has been a surprising success for Ford, leading to significant increases in sales and production. Production surged by 77 percent through June this year compared to the same period in 2023.

The Maverick is attracting a new customer base to Ford, with many buyers purchasing their first new vehicle. Ford reported that 80 percent of Maverick owners did not previously own a truck. The 2022 Maverick drew attention for its fuel efficiency of up to 40 miles per gallon and its starting price of around 20,000 dollars. However, with rising vehicle prices, the 2025 Maverick hybrid model now starts at 26,295 dollars.

Todd Eckert, Ford's truck product marketing and brand manager, argued that despite the price increase, the Maverick remains a good deal given the added technology and the average price of a new vehicle hovering around 50,000 dollars.

While Ford officials did not disclose the profitability of the Maverick, Emmert mentioned that adding new features to a truck always involves a business case.

Expanding Ford’s truck segment has been a key goal under CEO Jim Farley, who is restructuring the company to focus on its strengths, including its lineup of pickups.
