New Delhi: The Ministry of Food Processing and Industries (MoFPI) of the central government and Startup India have launched the Food Processing Startup Grand Challenge 2.0, aiming to tackle food waste reduction, nutrition, and sustainable production through innovation and technological advancements.
The challenge includes problem statements such as valuing agri/food residue/waste, developing nutritious food products, and improving water use efficiency, stated an official release. The top six ideas will receive Rs 4 lakh each, a roadmap from NIFTEM (K), and 12 months of incubation support worth Rs 2.5 lakh per startup.
Additional opportunities include field trials, market pilots, and technology validation.
