New Delhi: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has reported the addition of 17.31 lakh new employees in the month of March 2023.

This data has been compiled based on the provisional payroll data of ESIC, indicating a significant rise in job creation and employment opportunities for the country's youth.

According to the data, around 19,000 new establishments have been registered with the ESIC, ensuring more coverage and expanding the social security umbrella of the corporation. Of the total new employees added in March 2023, 8.26 lakh, or 48%, belong to the age group of 25 years or below. This suggests that more jobs have been generated for the country's youth, which is a positive trend for the future of the economy.

The gender-wise analysis of payroll data also highlights that 3.36 lakh female members have been enrolled in March 2023, indicating an increase in job opportunities for women. The data also indicates that the ESIC is committed to delivering benefits to every section of society, as 41 transgender employees have been registered under the ESI Scheme in the same month.

It is worth noting that the payroll data is provisional and the data generation is an ongoing exercise.
