New Delhi: The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) held its 38th Annual General Meeting in New Delhi on December 10, 2024. The meeting chaired by Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH, focused on various activities and initiatives by the Council during 2023-24 to promote handicraft exports from the country.
Leading exporters such as Ravi K. Passi, Raj Kumar Malhotra, D. Kumar, Avdesh Agarwal, Naved Ur Rehman, Salman Azam, Ashok Arora, Simrandeep Singh Kohli, Arshad Mir, Najmul Islam, Vishal Agarwal, Parvez Alam, S. K. Goel, J P Singh, Deepak Gupta, Rishi Soni, Sandeep Chhabra, Vineet Bhatia, Manu Gulati, Naveen Yadav, R. K. Verma, Executive Director-EPCH, and Rajesh Rawat, Additional Executive Director cum EPCH Secretary participated in the meeting.
Forming vacancies in the Northern, North-West, Southern, and Northeast regions was part of the agenda. Elected members were from the Northern Region, including Ravi K. Passi, Prince Malik, Osyrus Overseas, Arshad Hussain Mir, M/s Mir Handicrafts Private Limited, Jesmina Zeliang, Heirloom Naga, Dimapur, K. N. Tulasi Rao, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Co., Narsapur, and Dileep Baid, M/s Dileep Crafts Private Limited, Jaipur.
Zeliang, a prominent exporter from Dimapur, Nagaland, has been in the handicrafts sector for over three decades and has founded the Heirloom Naga Centre in Dimapur, Nagaland, to promote, preserve, and continue cultural traditions. Mr Baid expressed his appreciation to outgoing Committee of Administration member K. L. Ramesh for his contribution and services during his tenure in the handicrafts trade. He urged joint and collaborative support and efforts of member exporters for the betterment of the handicrafts sector.

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promoting handicraft exports and creating a brand image of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in producing home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture, fashion jewellery, and accessories products in different craft clusters of the country.
