Austin: Elon Musk, the mastermind behind Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), could become the world's first trillionaire by 2027, according to a recent ‘2024 Trillion Dollar Club’ report by Informa Connect Academy. The  SpaceX founder's 110 per cent annual wealth increase has solidified his lead in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a net worth of 251 billion dollars.

The report also identifies other high-profile billionaires expected to reach trillionaire status within the next few years. Gautam Adani, India’s wealthiest individual, is projected to join this exclusive club by 2028. His Adani Group, a conglomerate with interests spanning energy, ports, defence, aerospace, logistics, data centres, food production, and real estate, continues to grow. With a personal net worth of 84 billion dollars and an impressive average annual growth rate of 122.86 per cent, Adani's trajectory signals continued expansion of his business empire.

Jensen Huang, CEO & Co-Founder of Nvidia to achieve trillionaire status by 2028

Jensen Huang, the CEO and co-founder of Nvidia, is similarly on course to achieve trillionaire status by 2028. Huang, with his current net worth of 77 billion dollars growing at a rate of 111.88 per cent, has been instrumental in Nvidia’s evolution, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, establishing the company as a global leader in technology.

By 2030, Bernard Arnault, CEO of the luxury conglomerate LVMH, is also expected to join this elite group. Arnault's influence over the world’s largest luxury company underscores his prominent role in reshaping global wealth.

The notion of a trillionaire has fascinated people since John D. Rockefeller became the first billionaire in 1916. However, some academics view this level of wealth as a social issue, noting that the wealthiest 1 per cent are responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 66 per cent, amplifying the climate crisis.

3 women are expected to break historic wealth barrier

Among the 30 billionaires projected to reach trillionaire wealth by 2050, three women are notably expected to break this historic wealth barrier. Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the granddaughter of L’Oréal founder Eugène Schueller, stands out. Her net worth of 99.5 billion dollars, derived from the family’s stake in L’Oréal, is projected to reach 1 trillion dollars by 2040. As chairman of her family’s holding company and a board member of L’Oréal, Bettencourt Meyers’s influence ensures her place in the upper echelons of global wealth for coming decades.
