Guwahati: Davaindia, the retail pharmacy chain led by Zota Healthcare Ltd., has emerged as a trailblazer in providing affordable, high-quality generic medicines across India. With its extensive network of over 1,200 outlets nationwide, the brand deals with the growing issues pertinent to accessible healthcare. Besides a strong range of wellness and OTC products, Davaindia's product lines cover various therapeutic segments such as cardiac, gastro, paediatrics, nephrology, and obstetrics-gynaecology. In this light, offering an integral health approach at an affordable price has become the reason Davaindia is turning into a definitive name for millions of customers.

The company now focuses on Northeast India and is always keen to strengthen its footprint in cities such as Guwahati, Silchar, Agartala, and others across Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. The expansion, expected to be completed by FY 2025, highlights Davaindia's commitment to healthcare availability in the region.

During a recent interview with Business North East (BNE), Sujit Paul, Group CEO of Zota Healthcare Ltd., spoke of the brand's expansion plans during an event in Guwahati.

“Today’s program in Guwahati marks a significant milestone, showcasing our commitment to not just Guwahati but the Northeast as a whole,” Sujit Paul stated.

“We aim to ensure that high-quality generic medicines are available for people in Assam and across the region so that they can lead healthier lives with affordable healthcare,” the health professional added.

The expansion strategy focuses on retail outlets, without any immediate plans to set up regional or corporate offices in the Northeast. However, the company is committed to hiring a local workforce to support its retail operations here; pharmacists, of course, will top the list.

"Every pharmacist we hire in Assam will be from the local workforce," Sujit Paul emphasized.

When asked about online facilities, the Group CEO of Zota Healthcare Ltd. revealed plans to introduce online medicine purchasing options soon, enhancing convenience and accessibility for customers.

Besides business ventures, there is social responsibility through the #StandAgainstViolence initiative launched by Davaindia. The program hopes to create a sweeping change in India by involving the countrymen in creating awareness against and helping support survivors of domestic violence. The initiative includes a toll-free dedicated helpline, community workshops, and collaboration with NGOs, mental health professionals, and the police.

“Women’s safety is a critical concern, and sadly, much of this violence happens within the confines of their homes,” Sujit Paul stated adding “Our program is designed to work closely with women experiencing mental and physical abuse, starting from the Eastern part of the country. By doing so, we hope to create a better society at large.”

Davaindia’s dual focus on healthcare accessibility and social empowerment positions it as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry and corporate social responsibility (CSR). With expansion into the Northeast, Davaindia seeks to transform healthcare delivery in the region, while creating societal change through its #StandAgainstViolence initiative.

“Davaindia’s goal is not just physical healthcare but emotional and mental support as well. We are committed to building a society where everyone feels safe, valued, and free from violence,” Sujit Paul told BNE.

Through its expanding retail network and impactful initiatives, Davaindia is paving the way for a healthier, safer, and more inclusive future.
