Texas: CrowdStrike is facing significant backlash after offering a 10 dollars UberEats voucher as an apology for a global IT outage that caused widespread disruption across airlines, banks, and hospitals. The cybersecurity company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the software update on July 19 that affected 8.5 million computers worldwide.

In an email to its partners, CrowdStrike expressed gratitude for the extra work caused by the incident, stating, "To express our gratitude, your next cup of coffee or late night snack is on us!" Recipients were directed to use a code to access the 10 dollars credit.

As per reports, it sent the vouchers to "teammates and partners" who assisted customers during the outage. However, some recipients reported that the voucher did not work, with CrowdStrike admitting that Uber flagged it as fraud due to high usage rates.

The incident has sparked questions about potential financial compensation for CrowdStrike customers and those impacted by the outage. The company has pledged to improve its software testing procedures following the faulty content update for Windows systems that caused the mass IT outage, resulting in millions of PCs displaying "blue screens of death."
