BCCL pays first-ever Rs 44 cr dividend to CIL

Kolkata: Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a company owned by Coal India Limited (CIL), transferred its inaugural dividend of Rs 44.43 crore to its parent company on Sunday. BCCL's recent milestone includes successfully clearing its past losses and announcing a net profit of Rs 1,564 crore for the 2023-24 financial year, along with a turnover of Rs 13,216 crore.

Samiran Dutta, who serves as both the chairman and managing director of BCCL, officially presented the dividend to CIL chairman P M Prasad during a ceremony. BCCL shareholders approved the dividend payment at its 53rd Annual General Meeting on August 1. Dutta credited the company's solid financial performance and strategic advancements to a steady growth rate of 15 percent in recent years.
