Assam Hosts Roadshow In Mumbai Ahead Of Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment Summit

The Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (AIDC) prearranged a high-profile Roadshow in Mumbai on January 6 to build impetus for the future Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, set to begin in Guwahati from February 25 to February 26.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led the event with top government administrators and business leaders. The Roadshow served as a strategic platform to highlight Assam's economic alteration and display the state's investment potential across varied sectors.

A sequence of Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings was held with high-ranking executives from leading Indian corporations, providing a deep dive into Assam's investment landscape before the summit. The meetings were part of Assam's continuing efforts to appeal countrywide and worldwide investments aligning with the state's long-term economic vision.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized Assam's rapid change into a leading asset address, underlining the government's potential to create a business-friendly environment. He highlighted the state's emphasis on infrastructure development, noting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance, Assam has experienced rapid infrastructural growth post-2014, with investments exceeding Rs. 65,000 crore in sections such as roads, railways, and digital connection.

He shared his vision for Assam becoming an industrial hub and acknowledged the role of Tata Group in demolishing the myth that significant investments cannot happen in Northeast India.

The Assam Chief Minister emphasized the state's social change and its focus on quality human capital. He emphasized social welfare initiatives such as scholarships for girls and free education for poor students. Assam has also collaborated with Tata Trust to establish a world-class cancer care network, with a 50 per cent contribution from Tata Trust and 50 per cent from the state.

The CM also highlighted Assam's geographical importance, stating that it serves as India's gateway to Southeast Asia and will play a pivotal role in the country's development. The Northeast region, known as 'Ashtalakshmi', has massive potential and is expected to play a pivotal role in the country's future.
